The state of Kansas has restrictions on what can be reported in a background screening report beyond what the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) dictates.

Applicant/subject cannot be required to pay for a background check or a portion thereofNo employer may require an employee or applicant to...."inspect or challenge any criminal history record information relating to that person for the purpose of obtaining a copy of the person's record in order to qualify for employment."
